ALFI information session
Since 2005, Jonk Entrepreneuren Luxembourg (JEL) has been stimulating the entrepreneurial spirit of young people between the ages of 9 and 25 through educational programmes organised at every level of education. JEL strengthens the link between the world of schools and the world of business. With the support of volunteers from many different sectors of the business world, JEL’s programmes give young people the opportunity to have practical, concrete and collective experiences that enable them to develop entrepreneurial skills.
The six programmes presented during this information session provide the opportunity for you to get involved as a volunteer, share your knowledge and expertise and have a mutually beneficial exchange with the future generation of young professionals and entrepreneurs.
Programmes description
Our Community | 9-11 years old
The programme consists of five didactic units (5 × 50-60 minutes) and provides pupils with the necessary skills and knowledge, in order to understand how people, businesses and municipalities work together, as a community.
Fit for Life | 14-16 years old
The aim of the programme is to provide secondary school students with practical information on basic economics (e.g. personal finance, budget, salaries) and to make them understand the importance of setting educational as well as career goals based on their skills, values and interests. The project is currently in place in 175 classes in 31 high schools. The programme consists of 6 didactic units which are given in class by a volunteer from the business world.
Mini-companies | 15-19 years old
This programme stimulates the entrepreneurial spirit of high school students at the general and classical secondary education levels. For one year, students are responsible for a mini-company in which they are required to make decisions and take responsibility for them. Since the teacher acts more as a “coach”, the mini-company project leads to a break with the traditional image of the academic courses: the student becomes here an active member of his/her own project. Job Shadow Day, from 16 years old
The Job Shadow Day allows students to get a glimpse of the world of work. The project aims to enable students to actively participate in an ordinary day at a company and thus receive important impressions of professional life.
Young Enterprise Project, 19-30 years old
This is a pre-business creation learning programme. Groups of young people challenge themselves to identify an innovative, feasible and economically viable product or service idea and build a business model/business plan around it. The YEP is aimed at students in higher education, in all categories, from both business and non-business backgrounds. The programme provides guidance and tools for students to realise and develop their projects. Participants study the feasibility of their project with the support of business professionals (“coaches”).
The ALFI / JEL informative session will take place on 20 October 2022 at the Chamber of Commerce, from 8.30 to 10 am.
This event is reserved to ALFI members.
